Atlanta: Kim Tumey's CEO Beauty Mixer PDF Print E-mail
Written by Thais Mills

7 years ago while web surfing on the once ever so popular Myspace I ran across a profile standing out like a well polished thumb nail. Kim Tumey in big bold letters streamed from left to right on the screen. " Who is this woman ? " I thought to myself.... I'd never met anyone with the last name of Tumey so instantly I wanted to know more. Anything odd makes me go into " curious cat " mode.  After reading it was clear she was the real deal. Entertainment Manager to the stars, Business consultant and above all a woman who keeps God in her daily actions. Not too preachy but just enough to show she has true balance in her life. I was impressed. Like the talker my momma raised me to be I reached out to Kim and she TALKED BACK !! It was a few months after Hurricane Katrina and freshly settled in Houston Id just started my literacy magazine ( you're logged into it now ) and wanted everyone to know this is where stars talk about their favorite books. She agreed to check out my brand new dot com and get back to me.

For the next few days I was on pins and needles just hoping to grasp enough of her attention to book her clients for an interview. Patience laced with passion pays off, Kim contacted me back and we been biz pals ever since. When I noticed she was throwing a Beauty Mixer I jumped at the chance to be a part. Sponsored by Organic Root Stimulator something said everyone who did Beauty true justice would be there and I was right. Another long-time pal of mine was the guest of honor. TIA DANTZLER, make-up artist to the stars was the featured guest of honor. It was no question I have to get my crawfish tail there. Like I did 7 years ago I reached out to Kim and whudda ya know... she had a spot just for me and www.ThaisFlowers.com - I was thrilled !! Called my mom and told her I needed a tag-a-long !

When the night came I was overwhelmed with excitement. My mom was able to link up with her long time friend, Shirley Adams and they were kicking it like teenagers. Her daughter Adrianne came to support and I always loveeee vibing with that chick-a-dee, the night was perfect. Being under one roof with so many amazing people of the Beauty Industry was an honor to say the least. All sponsored by Organic Root Stimulator.

Beauty Blogger Megan aka ULoveMegz flew in from Los Angeles to record her new show. K Fleye flew in from Chicago and is the only non-celebrity African American to have her brand in Macy's. Actor Rico Ball stopped by from the new family film, Space Warriors, look for him to play Andre Rison in the new TLC movie. Crooked Prism an agency for beauty and lifestyle professionals flew in from Chicago too. It was wall to wall with beauty moguls and everyone was in good spirits. Even the official photographer of the event was sweet as a Georgia Peach, Her name is Deyvonne Moore of Moore Photography. She was so sweet to actually rock the Sunflower of my collection.  One really good vibe.

I wasn't there 10 minutes and DJ FadeLP played " Brickhouse " and chileeeee I was loose like a featherless goose. Started dancing like it was a high school dance right there at my flower table. The ice was officially broken and I was in Atlanta to sell flowers to the coolest of cool. Vendors there was about their business and it was very impressive. From Skinny Wraps to solutions to make any hand super soft just walking to each table was a new experience. From Lisa Wu of Atlanta Housewives walking up to my table to Tia Dantlzer and Kelley Moseley of Kfleye wearing my flowers for the world to see it was all like Christmas morning. Just too much fun to explain !!!!! Here's some pics and links to the fly people I met, Enjoy !! ~ Thais`
