Strictly Biz - Nicoya Hogan PDF Print E-mail

This girl has spunk. I literally follow her on Twitter just to see what she has to say. Being a "newbie" to the media scene she's catching on fast and has the clients to prove it. A proud New Orleans resident, find her on any given night keeping her ears to the ground and out on the town. Her name is Nicoya, come in and say hello...

1. What inspires you most nowadays ?

The desire to be greater than where I am now. My family, I don’t want to be a disappointment.

2. How do you relax ?

Long, hot soaks in the tub, going to the movies, going out to dinner

3. Tell me about the biz side of you... How did you get started ?

I started out about 2 years ago. My pastor asked me to do a write up for the church & I did so. Later he asked me to head up the PR for the church. Next, I helped put on a festival, 1st Annual Praise Fest 2009 for Bishop Ryan Warner of Versatile Entertainment, Inc. which took place in October at Louis Armstrong Park.  Last year I decided I wanted to pursue a career as an entertainment publicist. However, as of now I am a Legal Assistant, freelance publicist & part-time bartender. Every chance I get I’m working on projects for my clients. I have 6 clients, comprising of 1 group & 1 entertainment company.

4. How do you connect with your clients to make to the campaign stick ?

I do face-to-face meetings, usually at my place. Provide comfortable surroundings. Often cooked meals and sports on the television. Lol…

5. Do you have any pets ?

No pets.

6. Are you single... ? Is it hard dating and working with hot guys ?

Yes, I am single. Umm, not really. Its just hard dating period. Lol. But here’s to hope…one day, one day…

7. What's your favorite color ?

 Purple

8. Is the entertainment scene rebuilding in New Orleans ? Are we stronger or not?

The entertainment scene in New Orleans is coming back in a major way. There are so many outlets right now, the local scene is expanding and the staples are getting a larger following. I think, just as in any situation, it could always be stronger.

This is a great interview. I can personally vouch for Nicoya as having work with her at the church. She is very detailed about very little thing and works very hard to get the job done. I am proud of her and glad to know her. You go my baby. Elder B
