Its always nice to come in contact with a true gentleman. Mordecai is a soulful crooner who's managing to sing his way into the hearts and memories of so many in Houston and beyond. I managed to catch up with Mordecai and was excited to ask a few question that answers so much... Read & Enjoy !!
1 What Inspires you now a days ?
I feel like I have a lot to prove, and I guess that's a good feeling
to have. Now that my music is beginning to gain the attention of
people all over the world, I feel as though I have to keep their
attention. So that feeling is the inspiration that keeps me moving
forward everyday.
2. Describe your music style for new friends here.
My sound has matured even more since the last time we talked, and I
can REALLY hear the difference when comparing my current recordings to
my first single "W.O.R.K." Best way to describe it (my sound) would be
a soulful-club sound, if there is such a thing.
3. Does living in Houston inspire your sound ?
It inspires me to push even harder. There are so many talented
individuals in this city its ridiculous. Knowing that is what inspires
me to strive for the top of my game and stay there.
4. Do you like being indy or would love a major deal ?
If the right opportunity presented itself I would sign to a major
deal, as long as the contract stated that I would be a priority within
the year. Yes, indy is cool - a lot of growth takes place there, but
there's nothing like the exposure a major can take you within the
matter of hours.
5. Is there an album and where can we get it ?
I have just released a brand new single titled "Runway Model" featuring Pinc Gator (Produced by Beanz n Kornbread). You can find it at www.MordecaiOnline.net - Currently in the studio recording my second mixtape with Pinc Gator titled "Good Weather Music", that will be out before the end of March
